VISITING THE DIG
The excavation is open every day from Monday 14th June to Sunday 5th
September, 10am - 4pm. The entrance fee is £1 for adults, 50p children
under 16.
Guides are on hand to answer your questions. Witness as archaeologists
dig through time to uncover the secrets of the last 2000 years in York.
There is a shop selling archaeological publications and souvenirs.

July: National Archaeology Days
Re-enactors will bring history alive at the St. Leonard digs this weekend!
On Saturday the Romans will invade, bringing military displays, crafting
and authentic cooking. Then on Sunday experience the 'history street',
which will vividly recreate the timeline of the site - early Roman, late
Roman, Viking, medieval. (No admission charge this weekend).
24/25 July: Roman Weekend
Visit the St Leonard's site this weekend and join one of the archaeologists
at 11am, 1pm or 3pm for special tours of the standing remains of the Roman
fortress that stood on this very site. There will also be family activities
running all day on Saturday 24 July. (No admission charge this weekend).
